Coolhand

Hi folks I have a 535 Excel with aluminium floorboards held in place with aluminium stringers that clip over the edges. The recommended engine is a 40 hp Johnson. When i accelerate the aluminium clips dislodge from the floorboards. I am not sure why this happens as I can not now get the boat onto plane. any help please.

Hi Coolhand - welcome to RIBnet

What pressure do you have in the tubes? I wonder if lower pressure than recommended could leave too much "play" to hold the stringers tightly in place...

I have the 435 as willk says make sure pressures are right plus make sure the stringers overlap the joint in the boards my stringers aren’t all the same length so you can get it wrong

Yes willk crucial the boards move under your feet if not up to pressure I found that out last time out my itiwit pump was showing the wrong pressure before it gave up. One more thing make sure all your valves are tight with the spanner provided at least 4 of us on here have had them leak just nip up and soap test
