Coppercoat on the dry-stack.

I recently visited Hamble Point Marina and spotted this rib in the dry stack. It is owned by Osmotech UK and was treated with Coppercoat 7 years ago. It was good to see that it had withstood the vigour’s of being lifted, stacked and re-launched many times over the years.

Why antifoul a boat that's kept ashore?

Simply because this particular boat spends a fair amount of time afloat. By using Coppercoat they have the freedom to leave the boat in for as long as they like, safe in the knowledge it won't get dirty. Similarly it can come out for months at a time if needs be, and the coating won't crust or oxidise (and fail) as would be the case with a conventional anti-foul paint.

It's good stuff Coppercoat; I've had it on my boat for five years now. It's as much a type of gel shield as it is an antifoul. In fact, it's good for what ails ye.
