Cornwall/Devon best ribbing locations?
Been to salcombe the past few years with the thundercat and want to start exploring some more down that way.
Can anyone recommend some good places to go for a weekend or worth a visit?
Cheers!

You're spoilt really. I like Plymouth - gives plenty of options for a play, loads to see and easy runs to places such as Looe, Salcombe, Fowey.
Torquay - allows access to teh Dart, Brixham, Paignton and down to the Ex or Dawlish.
Further down there is Falmouth, load and loads down here to explore both inshore and off shore if you want.
Padstow is a good base but teh North Coast can be very unforgiving with minimal place sto run. Saying that Appledore area allows for some nice boating with inshore and Estuary options if it's grim.
There are plenty of events to tie into - Dartmouth Regatta, Falmouth regatta, Pendennis Cup and so on - well worth watching the What's on pages of your preferred location.
The other thing to consider is what's local for off days. There are a few lovely villages / places to launch on teh coasts but nothing to do locally if its' grim.

Hi Luke
I'd be tempted to drag the rib down there from Poole for a few days this summer. More than willing to convoy down there with you if you want some company. We'll have young Jacob with us but he's old enough now to enjoy it.

Falmouth as already mentioned once you've done Falmouth & St Mawes follow the river, plenty to see & if the tides are right you can get up to Truro:
River Fal Cornwall, tourist guide & map, events, accommodation, businesses, history, photos, videos
The Helford River, again plenty to see, boatyards, Gweek seal sanctuary, the Shipwrights Arms:
Helford River Cornwall, tourist guide & map, events, accommodation, businesses, history, photos, videos
On both you'll see concrete aprons leading into the sea, these are relics of D-Day & were used for the embarkation of troops, vehicles & equipment.

I would agree with the above. Decent slipway at Fowey if you want to put in there with plenty of good stops and most of the above within striking distance with amazing beaches along the way.
