Course completed

Well I completed my powerboat level 2 course yesterday and I have to say what a fantastic time I had, oh and I passed

I did this at Portishead and yesterday we went up the Seven and under both bridges ... a great experience I was surprised to see that it was a like mill pond, as for the passed few days/weeks it's been very windy and looked a bit choppy.

It was my first time out in a Rib, I have a SIB at the moment, and to say I enjoyed it is an understatement! I will definatly be upgrading once it is pratical to do so.

Hi,
Congrats,

Did mine last year with Professioal Powerboats in North Wales too, it was fab but I do most of my playing in Devon and the Solent. I've thought about going out from Portishead but it didn't look that appealing last time I looked.

I know there are a few Bristol based ribsters on here but I've always thought of the channel as a bit intimidating.

If anyone with more experience of the area fancies giving us some advice, maybe we could buy some beers in return.

BTW Chaskins, who did your course in Portishead?

Cheers

Mike

Hi,

SWMBO's mother lives in Paignton so the deal is that if we go and see her, I get to take the boat.
I put it in Brixham marina and we potter around between Dartmouth and Exmouth. I like Salcombe alot too but it's a pain finding somewhere to keep the boat. I really should get a bit more adventurous, maybe next year.

Hi,

I did my course at Workman marine school and the instructor was Gary Workman. It was a very well run course and a most enjoyable couple of days.
Going up the channel was a fantastic experience.
