The issue was only ever the tube damage but I do appreciate to comments about a dolly. Makes sense and would save on lifting costs and potential damage.

Is the £100 lift price from the boat yard crane for a regular lift into the water? If you have to hire a mobile crane to lift it into your garden it will probably be considerably more. The going rate for a 40tonne mobile crane is around £600/day. 40t sounds like a biggun, but it’s a pretty standard small crane these days. They normally come in a minimum 8hr day hire. Things might work differently on the Islands though. Technically you also need a lift plan/Risk assessment & method statement which you have to provide. If you want the crane company to do all the work you’re into contract lifts will cost upwards of £1k. Like I said though, things might work differently “on the Islands”(hopefully [emoji6])

No mate, the cost is for a mobile crane hire. They charge by the hour and it’s a min of 1.5hr so roughly £100. They’ve done it for me before (without tubes) so know where it goes and access and no need for RA. Island way I suppose

You dont need a mobile crane, plenty of hiab wagons running around with cranes capable of lifting a decent size rib with a 10m ish reach, last time I had a hiab lift it cost me less than £100 cash, guy did it on his way home for pocket money

That's exactly right. Get a hiab if you are going to crane it. Probably wont cost much more than a crate of beers if you know the right person.

Agree completely.......the right HIAB is more than capable.......but before you go down the "£100 cash on his way home" route, just check he's fully insured....cheap is great until things go wrong and when it comes to lifting, when they go wrong they go VERY wrong

Like I said, if you can get “mates rates” it’s a different ball game.
I still think that a more permanent down to earth (pun intended) solution would be better.

very good price that, all i would say is keep the lift away from the tubes with the spreader bars

Got her out of the water today and craned in. No problem with the tubes and the guys were really careful with her.
Managed to get most of the mud off but it’s defo stained the bottom. She won’t be going back in the mud anytime soon that’s for sure.
Thanks for all of your comments and no need to attack my fences!!!!! [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

Glad its worked out how you wanted, though I would have loved to make gates out of those 2 center panels perhaps something to consider for future, put me up for a week and I will help you make the gates.
I'm what we always used to call a Guernsey donkey
