cubby box
Where can I get a small glove box for my console? The only ones I havd found are for VHF and stereos.
What I am looking for is a very small waterproof box with lid that I can inset into the console, or even a small cubby without lid that I can inset and rubber line to keep mobile phone and maybe a camera etc in when going along.
The sort of small item you want to keep handy for use rather than pack away.
I have measured the various offerings and I don't have room for anything very large.
Any ideas?

Plastimo have a few different types. One is called a VHF box which is smallish, but fine for wallet, mobile phone, etc. and a larger one based around a 10" x 8" hatch. There's also round hatches with a waterproof 'sock' inside

Hatch with box is the sort of thing I am after but they are all too large. Even a smaller version of the sort of cubby you get for extinguishers would do.
In fact this may be the answer if I cut one up, glass it together and inset......

You could glass in some ply to form a box within the console space and use a small round hatch for access - these are available as small as 100mm dia.

I had the same problem but no room for anything inset in the console. I ended up buying a couple of heavy canvas bags with a velro flap top. Fitted a snap hook to each side if the console and hang the bags. Now I just drop my stuff in the bags. when done for the day un hook the bags and take the stuff home. Very convienient tand my stuff does not rattle around.
Your could do the same with sheet bags used on yachts.

My glovebox is the Nuovarade type and this holds suncream, glasses, camera and still isn't large enough. You want a smaller one!
Are you shure you can't find a place to mount it?
