Hi folks

Take a look at this and if you are down that way watch out for lumps of wood!

wood is not the word! 'Trees' would be more accurate a description!

OK stop the presses rolling.
Spike the lead story-use this instead.
A hot report from your intrepid local reporter!!

Here is said ship (on the right) listing about 20 degrees. On the left is a tug on standby and all the little dots are sightseeing tourists.
Pl. excuse quality of photo, only THE EDITOR wont allow me to buy a better zoom lens digicam.

The reason Brian was out there is that he was collecting some wood for his new shed.

Pete....... Ouch! See PM

having stepped off the St Peter Port Life Boat at 02:00 this morning after attempting to get to this ship 45 nm of the west coast of Guernsey in a force 10 with gusts to 75 + mph it is really nice to see it safe and sound in calm waters off Torbay

Thanks for the offer Stu, Silver Shield replaced three of the door windows working through the night and used perspex for the other two until a permanent job can be done early next week. Damage to the paintwork (which needs a respray) from the glass might come under the £50 excess for the glass too, the insurance co told me about this one. Bottle of Scotch going to the lads at Silver Shield as they cleaned the car top to bottom to get rid of all the glass finishing late into night. Even the Council sent a team to sweep the road (six cars lost glass) within the hour. I am astonished but happy.

No sorry don't know him. Lots of tradesmen around at the moment fixing things. Next door neibour gained a nice garden shed for free, even came flat packed delivered in her back garden. It took a while to identify the real owner as he lives about 800 yards away ! The saving grace in all this was the schools had broken up Thurday so no kids in the road at the time (about 3.30 pm). The glass travelled for 90 feet up and down the road covering everything.

Thinking only of his adoring and faithful readers, this intrepid reporter, at great risk to himself, made another trip down the hill to Paignton beach to bring you the latest news on the Russian timber freighter.
During the day efforts had been made to offload some of the timber that it was carrying. Unfortunately this resulted only in the vessel listing even more dangerously to port. The ship is now in some trouble with 75mph+ winds forecast for latter this evening.
After exchanging comradely banter with the Sky News reporter and his satellite transmission crew ("Brian Elliott, RIB.NET News,-yo blood, hows it hanging") I took a few more photos and retired to the Editorial Office.
Unfortunately, due to the meaness and shortsightedness of THE EDITOR IN CHIEF, and her views on shocking prices of GOOD digicams, the low-spec equipment with which I am forced to works means the results are not deemed worthy of posting here.

However, never fear Dear Reader, I will venture bravely out at dawn and report on the ship again (if it's still afloat!).

Help!

Earthquakes in Birmingham (we don't count the tiddler in Manchester), Tornados in Portsmouth, what is happening?

I blame Alan Priddy, he upset the equilibrium of the world by trying to go around it. Ever since they stopped it being flat there has been trouble.
