marrying his daughter

Accepted.
So now that this Rally is going ahead, how many boats do you have taking part ?
And you will want to join Ribnet as a trade member now won't you. You wouldn't want JK having to pay for Ribnet and then trade members who directly benefit from it with advertising not contributing their share.
Pete

LOPC in trade?
Surely as LOPC is an Old Etonian and former officer in the Coldstream Guards and now with a large Northumbria Estate to look after he would not be interested in trade!

In that case I recommend the silver membership, but you will be wanting the trade membership with all this advertising.

er Dale Winton didn't go Eton...I know that for a fact.
as for becoming a silver member, I am not organising the rally so I get no benefit for it at all, try the rally organiser or Mr. Bonham Smith.

If you want any Ribnet merchandise for prizes, then all you have to do is look at the thread at the top of the Ribs and Ribbing section entitled "Ribnet merchandise", or send me a PM or Email and I would be happy to send you some stuff in return for some remuneration!
Sorry I havn't replied sooner, I've been a bit busy in Cowes winning a British Championship!

Not me! I think I'll wait and see how things turn out this year, I may be a little busy preparing something for the Boat show, as well as other work, so now the racing is over for the year it's time to get back to earning some money!
Seen in a cafe on the way home from Cowes ................
This isn't meant to be a non-profit making organisation - it just turned out that way!

Some people just dont read these threads properly.
I repeat I am nothing to do with the organisation of this rally merely a humble competitor.
Try Ed Balme or the very sexy Alicia who works in his office. However as people have made it clear on previous threads you guys just arnt interested in this over priced rubbish so I'm not sure Balme will be in a rush to become a rib.net trade member unless the event changes the minds of many of the doubting Thomas'.
As far as the weather goes Friday and Saturday are going to be a scorchio so if any of you nerds have a last minute change of mind then now is a good time to convert to the dark side!

I think the prize money kitty is about £2800 but you will have to check with the organisers for the latest figures.
There is also a fairly fancy Silver cup donated by Sir Dai Llewllyn. I beleive he got his hands on it in Mustique when Princess Margaret wasnt looking!

I disagree. There has been no bad or abusive language, just a little niggling...each side whether pro or anti the rally has given as good as they they get, and this free speech on these forums is very healthy.
The Rally starts on Friday... by curtailing this thread or the contributors to it now would stop the story before it reaches it's climax, and hopefully some photos.
I for one have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread.

For nerd read Traffic Warden
Polar Bear, when I mean nerd I refer to the people who criticise anything and everything and pick holes in threads like it is some big ball of emental cheese.
It does not refer to IT people suc as yourself as LOPC member AkA Groper might have insinuated in previous posts!
If you are looking for JK to wheel the axe then I beleive there is no better candidate than our man from Brussels - EUPA!

One way they could get across the channel I suppose
So I will ask for a second time, how many boats are taking part in this race? or is that a secret ?

Top secret
When invading foreign shores its best not to let them know exactly how many of you there are!
Also if any boats do sink or go astray it will be easier for Balme to hoodwink the intense media coverage!
