I think I'm only going as far as a mile or so down river from Tower Bridge. I will have a deputy Harbour master from PLA on board as well as a press photographer, plus a pretty woman I hope.
I'm supposed to go about 35knts or so as Pace Boat, then pull over to let the beasts roar past.
Then I go back to my quiet suburban mooring in Fulham, drunk from all the excitement.

Is everyone in ribs a complete nerd?
We are four chelsea girls from London who are entering the Deauville Rally in a Honda 150 race boat and were getting very excited about the rally.
We literally cant wait. Its going to be such a blast and we just hope to god that Ed will keep all these horrible little nerds as far away as possible.
The word is spreading all around town about this and every where we go people cant stop talking about the event with true admiration for the event.
We cant wait!

Methinks the lady doth protest too much
Why are you and all your group trying to persuade everyone on here that this is such a great event
if it is a great event get on and enjoy it
if not stop wasting our time hyping it up. You must think we are so stupid
Des

Maybe to offset all the people here jumping in the bandwagon slagging the event off and trying to pick holes in every post.

why post on a rib forum about racing in a cougar / ring hardboat - shouldnt you be expressing your enthusiasm on a different site and then to compound things, you continue the derogatory comments aimed at "horrible little nerds" on here....f*ckwits.

I’m not slagging the event off, I’m slagging of their apparent need to persuade me that it will be great Great events don't need this level of sell Des

That's a bit strong.
I would have thought that the mail was in context of the thread and we, JK, allows non ribbers on here anyway.
As it happens I think the post is spam but that is my view.
Mark
P.S. ScaryDes, you posted before me and the above is not aimed at you

strong?
Think it's only reasonable to respond to negative comments made towards members of the forum, so happy for my post to be considered strong.

I suspect the ratio of "were so great" to "you lot are rubbbish" is one sided!

We are four chelsea girls from London who are entering the Deauville Rally in a Honda 150 race boat and were getting very excited about the rally.
In my day we use to call you lot "sloaners" - basically translated as having more money than sense. Got all your necessary qualifications & accessories to land in Deauville--
1 PB level2 ( ICC)
2.Insurance certificate
3. SRC if VHF fitted ( disc as well)
4. proof of boats owner./origin
5 charts
6.lifejackets
7.flares
8.log book(especially if VHF fitted)
In the Uk you dont need anything- but go to france and if the gendarmes arn't in a particular good mood - you could end up with the boat being confiscated. I am sure the organisers informed you of all this?. Deauville is mainly a yachting fraternity and they do not like 2000 hp boats tearing into their tranquility.
In fact Jono, I think we should ask the French authorities to check every boat... thoroughly
The above should have been told to you by your safety operator.
sincerely
Jonathan

eupa
These are girls from Chelsea they wouldn't be seen dead in "flares"
Mark
P.S. VAT cert as well
P.P.S. But I'm sure the organisers have it all in hand.
P.P.P.S. A corkscrew as well
