deck attachments SR / flooding hull

Hi folks ,
I intend to equip my SR with foot straps and special aluminium rails to tie down & secure luggage , canisters , diving bottles etc .
The question is - if I screw them onto the deck - what about if the tips of the screws coming out under deck in the flooding compartment of the hull ?
Will be hard to seal them from the opening at the stern ..
Can I ignore it ?
Can somebody tell the thickness of the deck ? ( in order to chose correct lenght of screws )
Any suggestion how to seal them ?

Appreciate any ideas !

Cheers - Jürgen

Rails

Hy,
I had a piece sawn out of the deck it is 12 mil. Covered ply. If i would mount such rail i would probably screw them on a laminated plank and glass it in with epoxy or polyester. But screwing on the deck is possible to i then would dril holes where the screws would come, protect thes with resin or primer then get sikaflex under the rail and screw/glue them in. Then moist shouldnt be a problem and strength to is ok.
Hope it helped

Mit freundlichen Grusse
Bert

Hi ,
Thanks for fast respond !
As they come from the supplier they are not salt water resistant ! They need to be coated - think even twice .
A German guy coated them in black and installed them on his Ribcraft . I like the idea because they are very flat and and not a source to stumble all the time ..

Cheers
