Delta X 850

Has anyone been out on or have an opinion about Delta's X craft, particularly the X 850?

Thanks,

Jim

Didn't Graham Fleck have one of these with a diesel inboard, a Yanmar I recall? When it was for sale, it was, of course, wonderful but in a conversation some time later, after it was long gone, he said it he felt wasn't a particularly good boat.

It might be worth dog 'n boning him.

I'd forgotten that Jeff, thanks. I'll try to track him down, he must be somewhere hereabouts, trying to sell his Granny no doubt!

Not sure about the 850, but Tonka who sometimes posts on here has his up for sale at the moment, Delta a 7.7x fitted with twin 240 yamaha inboards. He's basically to busy driving a Ocean Dynamic 12m to use his own boat. It's lying at kip if you want a look.
Theres also a 9? x in ballycastle, don't know much about it though.
Deltas are good strong well built boats.
Cheers
Andy

Thanks Andy, I was up in Kip a couple of weeks ago and had a look at Tonka's RIB. Nice machine, but I'm looking for something pretty new (if not totally new! ) for next season.

Delta tell me that the X850 is their best hull for rough water (presumably at that that hull length), and that coupled with the new Yamaha 432 is a very capable and reliable RIB. I'm awaiting a quote from them, but I'm certain it won't come cheap!

Cheers,

Jim

Dark blue and orange colour scheme if I remember correctly. Wet and uncomfortable. Hard ride. Not very well laid out.
It was bought by a chap on the Isle of Man in 1999. He sold it on last year, I think to some organisation in Stornoway.

That would be a Delta then!

On the plus side it won't break or stuff.
