Did you give your rib a name?
........ and do you HAVE to name your boat?
If you did name it - what and why?!!!

Our RIB is called 'The Nashers Revenge'.
It's obviously partly due to me being known as Nasher from my very early schooldays due to my Surname.
Partly it's a play on the name of Edward Teach's(Blackbeard's) flagship 'The Queen Anne's Revenge'.
And partly it's a two finger salute to the people who didn't think I shouldn't have it, which is a long story.
Nasher

Did you give your rib a name?
Our RIB is Black Pig, after the Captain Pugwash books I was obsessed with as a kid. The SIB is called Piglet, which seems apt.

Our boat is called Clear Dawn as that's what we're called in New Zealand - my wife is Claire and I'm Don.

I've never named/renamed any our boats. The first one was called Volante 390 , the next was White Mischief 2, and after this Bambini.
Don't have the story behind White Mischief but Bambini (Italian: little children) so called because the original lady owner used to take her dogs on it and she called them her babies.

My first was called Cyanide-because that was it's colour.
My second was called Saffron-because that was it's colour and it was piggin expensive.
(Do you see a pattern occurring here?)
My third will probably called Salamander. It will probably be only used by me to paddle cross the River Styx in order to save my money from Charon.
(Salamander, is, incidentally good name to -repeat over VHF, it is easily recognisable by (say) foreign VHF operators, it is easy to say and more than 2 syllables long.)

Tickler because it is a RIB and I have a childish sense of humour.
