Discresion is the better part of valour

Set off this morning on the trip to Cowes, but shortly after rounding St Antonys lighthouse in Falmouth Bay, we hit the largest swell I have ever been out in.

Eventually it got so bad that we took a wave right over the cabin roof so we have aborted for today and will see what the forecast is for tommorrow, but it doesn't look good as the easterly is expected to continue and build.

So it looks like I will not be at the Review after all.

Good decision Alex.
If you feel uncomfortable, go back.
If you get frightened, it's too late!

Coders, the boat handled it fine..

But it did not fancy trying it all the way from Falmouth to the Isle of Wight. There is always tommorow.

The wind is only a 4-5, that is what surprised us, we were not expecting a swell that size (5-6m).

Crumbs, that is a lot for the weather we have had. Adverse tide? Portland could be fun if you miss timed it.
