Have I missed something here - how do we know he is fraudulent - we suspect it sure, but lifting someones description of a product hardly make it a crime.

I have to add here that I think it IS fraudulent!

My bet is that you won't get a reply from ebay (other than "we have recieved your email" - auto reply)

I wonder if the items get removed from ebay - doubt it - although I hope i'm proved wrong.

Lifting the description is a crime as he's lifted the pictures too-even if he IS selling real engines he sure as hell isn't selling the ones he's saying he is as they are in Florida! Add to that the guy hasn't left feedback for the 'buyers' of his previous items-suddenly getting feedback you arent expecting is a pretty good way of realising you've been hacked...

In fact, this guy is quite prolific....and has several ID's hes going to use to scam with...check this out.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=7985582935

There's more too-EVERY recent transaction linked to the accounts surrounding this guys feedback look dodgy. 'imported' cars, with cut and pasted photoshop numberplates the lot...

Ok, safety equipment at the ready...
Wonder quite how much it'd hurt if I fired a phosphorus flare up his arse?

He might not enjoy it much but I would. I hate these bastards with a passion. They cost me a £2000 sale on a car last year when they hit 'buy it now' while I was in negotiation with someone 'off ebay'. They saw it had gone and assumed I'd sold it and bought elsewhere.

I bet they won't either!

Has anyone who emailed ebay had a reply from them yet - I doubt it.

All the time the bas***ds are allowed to get away with it they will and if anything proliferate.

Like Spam and Viruses these problems could almost be wiped out tomorrow if the powers that be did something about them - its technically so easy. However there is too much money involved.

Ebay could stop these fraudsters by ensuring they were dealing with legitimate people. Might affect the amount of stuff they sell on auction however!

Strange, Still no reponse to my "ask the seller a question" two days ago "Can I collect and pay Cash?" - I wonder why - he's been looking at ebay 'cause he's retracted bids 8-)

and even stranger... ebay haven't suspended him yet!

That ID maybe, but not from trying to sell using another one

The flare idea seemed a good one though.....

yeah-but this one is a very carefully orchestrated scam-I think it involves the phishing email that used an exploit of ebay's own front page. the guy has had to sit on the accounts for a month too, just to lose the new member tag.
If we can screw this scam up it'll take him quite a while to set up another.

Guess what-I've just been contacted by someone (who I can't name for legal reasons) who has the scammers home details. He's asked me to publish them.

His details are below...

< Edit: Deleted personal details. JK >

Perhaps you and your friends could drop him a line.

Of course, now his email addy is public in its full form then he's gonna get all sorts of offers from other scammers.... tee hee

OK, I think there's a misprint in the email address as I just got this back:

"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

Importavice@yahoo.com"

However, I have added a 'd' to make "advice" and thus far, it hasn't come back.

I just sent him a mail saying I was coming to see him tomorrow in Rome.
