Dolphins

Anyone else lucky enough to come across a pod of dolphins in The Solent this weekend?

I was on a wafi boat all weekend and spotted them off our port bow at about 16.30 on Saturday, just east of Cowes harbour entrance. They swam and played alongside us for about 10 mins and then disappeared. V nice surprise!

Friday the 8th we were safety boat for a cross Solent swim for tv and had them come and have a look at us .The swimmers got abit nervy when they saw the fin come up but relaxed when they leapt out of the water . Awsome site and we had 1 in the River Medina at the weekend mooching about.
Very rare to see a pod of them .

One of my crew thought the same re: the fin.

We counted 6 dolphins. Amazing to see them jumping up and playing. Couldn't believe our luck.

Saw a pod of Fthe North of the Scillies on Sunday - counted 5 on the surface but there must have been more as they were working a shoal of Mackerel (as was I).

Send them to Ramsgate

You should send them to Ramsgate for Jon B he could keep them in the harbour and run dolphin watch from the pontoon this will keep his fuel bill down !

we saw 3 heading into the river Tamar from Plymouth sound about a month or so back . There may have been more . What surpries me was that one was almost white in colour , the other two the normal grey . Never seen that , could it have been a youngster ?
