Dream cruises....

Ok guys, as a newbie here its become obvious that there are some serious maritime adventurers on here. So I was wondering what plans people have for ribbing adventures in 2016?

I'm hoping to do a run from Portishead out to the Scilly isle's.

That's a lovely run!You always have the option to Break it up with an stop/overnighter at Lundy too.
I've Done the whole run in half hops and the Scillies from Rock North Cornwall a couple of times....just watch out for on shore blows!....the North Cornwall Leg to Lands End can make the rest seem pretty placid!

We're Up to Sky with the "Die Hard Crew" ...later in the year, hoping for a window to St Kilda
Also a trip to the IOM and a cross Channell.

Thanks for the info Maximus.

I've been doing lots of reading about the passage to St Kilda, it sounds like an awesome trip to be honest. Its certainly a trip I would like to do but at the moment I think experience wise its a little above my pay grade, so to speak. However, planning on getting the miles and hours in during 2016 so hopefully come 2017 I get the opportunity.

RIBase
I'm planning on taking a few days to do a lap of Corsica early in the year. Then later in the year taking the boat from Corsica over to Italy.

Also plan to do some diving from it in seldom dived places and some wild camping on a few of the tiny islands between Corsica and Sardinia.

Trimix that sounds like a good plan. I've never managed to stop on Corsica or Sardinia but both appeal. Last time I was down that way was on a 52ft yacht. Although your plan to take a rib sounds much more appealing

RIBase
I'm off there tomorrow for some fun with the RIB.

Forecast is 15-17 degrees, flat sea and blue sky

(There will be no repeats of the Two Ronnie's / Only Fools and Horses, no tiresome Christmas adverts and rainy boxing day walks in the mud)
