Cookee, would have liked to have tagged along as we have the 8m Extreme RIB in the UK, but it is still in need need of a counter rotating surface piercing prop.

Bit of an update - I have been keeping the Google Map up to date with venues and now the mileages between venues.

We are auctioning the spare seat for each leg of the trip on Ebay and I have already had bids on several legs. It's all for a good cause and 100% of the money will reach the Children's Hospices. Either type in BananaShark to Ebay to see all of the legs or go to the BananaShark Facebook page to see them all listed, I will be putting the items up on our website as well this morning. Here is probably the most spectacular leg through the Caledonian canal Ebay link but we already have one bid!

Hi Cookee. I would be very keen to bid for a leg, dates dont work well for me, is there any chance of a seat on the 1st day Salcombe to Newlyn Leg as 21st June would work well for me? Thanks

I'm sorry that didn't make it on to Ebay but it's already taken.

The bids are coming in now and the prices are going up - thanks to everyone that's had a bid!

The Salcombe leg is now available and on Ebay - it's the first leg of the Round Britain trip and at under 90 miles will be an "Easy" day assuming the weather plays ball! As a Ribnet offer if one of the Cornish lot want a bid I'll get picked you up from Totnes station if you want to get the train up from the other side of the border! Ebay linky

Hi Cookee, what time are you planning to leave Salcombe on the 21st? We want to wave you off if we can.

Cheers and good luck,

Cheers and good luck,
We'll be down on Normandy Pontoon from 9am and the boat will leave at 10am - the notice to mariners is out and we are allowed to break the speed limit past Cliff House Gardens - look out for the rooster!

Glad we weren't setting off this week. It looks like Thursday might be quite a pleasant trip to Newlyn after all.

For those that are interested we have tracking on the website: Tracking page - We also have a Raymarine AIS on board so if you look for BananaShark Stirling online Here you should be able to see us making our way round. We leave every day at approximately 10am after handing over the cheques and showing interested people the boat - come and say hi!

Google map of the route.

There have been mentions of gales - we will be looking very closely at the weather forecasts for the next few days - we are obviously never going to put anyone at risk doing this, it just isn't worth it. If it's possible we'll be there!
