Well done back on route, I see you've just rounded the Mull of Kintyre heading into some spectacular scenery and with very calm conditions.
Shame about Lands End and the West coast of England, I was really looking forward to seeing you power off the tops of those 20ft waves @ 30 knts, and showing us little ribs how it is done. The conditions looking very similar to when I went round Lands End last autumn making about 10knts against the seas, but when you turn the corner and head up the bristol channel with the sea on your back corner, its fantastic fun.
Can you let us know, what wave height / wind speed is the maximum that you want to be out in.
Good luck with the rest I will keep a close eye on it.

Difficult to say really, we came back from Newlyn to Plymouth in a 7 gusting 8 with "significant" wave height! It's all about the space between the waves as well as the height. Got to finish off the Caledonian tomorrow and then run back down the East coat with some big days ahead.

Nessie had gone to lunch when we came up the Loch - got great photos from both the big lochs!
Sponsors have been fine, Richard is in the back today - we'll see how he gets on! To be fair the motion is too rapid to make you sick. More likely to scare the shit out if you and give you bruises where you didn't know you had places!

According to the local RIGs its 2-3 foot waves, 5-8 knt wind.
Following the tracker the SOG is about 25knts, and the tide flow is pushing them.
Shouldnt they be doing 50knts or are they running on one engine to conserve fuel ?

Oh dear oh dear, poor Cookee, everything is against them but they are doing their damned best to keep on schedule any way possible.
Boat was blasting down the East Coast at speeds up to 60mph today then torrential rain and severe fog which led to zero visibility around Blythe, N E of Newcastle Upon Tyne, they had to abandon that part of the trip load the boat onto a trailer to get to Grimsby for tomorrows leg to Chatham, BUT due to the torrential weather the Tyne tunnel was flooded, they have been trapped in traffic with huge queues, from the tracking it looks like they are heading down the coast, they expect to arrive in Grimsby at 1am (near Middlesbrough now) The docks were shut so they couldn't arrange anything, a mate of mine went down to the docks and has arranged for them to get the boat into the docks and to be lifted in at 8am tomorrow morning for the trip down to Chatham. My mate is on that leg and I will be going to Chatham to collect him and then take him to Portsmouth by road, hope to meet Cookee and the crew, maybe take some pics and post them here if they allow me
Update finished, don't know any more, sorry

I'm in Skegness today and it's blowing a hooley. Keeping off the North Sea today would seem like a good idea!
