Eddystone Sat 28 Sept

Maybe late in the season and a gale raging is S. Devon today, but yesterday was glorious.

Planning to run Brixham- Plymouth and back, it was so flat in Bigbury bay we decided to male a detour - well worth it!

Surprised how few boats were out, although Plymouth Sound was quite busy.

Not sure why the pics have rotated 90 degrees!

Mod edit: Fixed them.

If you rotate them before you upload them they should be good

Lakeland I've had this happen a few times in the past with photos uploaded from an iPhone and it's really annoyed me. I wonder if you are using an iPhone? I understand some forum software struggles reading data within some images and makes the assumption the image was intended as landscape. I'm going to undertake some experiments and see if I can find a solution.

BTW great trip to get out there, we commented how nice the day was forecast and were it not for the pressure of a bathroom refurb would have headed to the coast.

Thanks Fenlander,

Both photos were portrait on my 'phone - a Samsung not iPhone, so surprised they rotated on uploading, thy don't normally!

Yesterday was just one of those days when you think the window's too good to miss - but you need to be flexible awe had a very close eye on the weather, fuel, and times to make that change to original passage plan!

Well worth it, despite not getting home untill 10.00pm

LT

I'd really like to say it was some very highly technical computing ability that I am capable of carrying out, but yes no more than downloaded and rotated.

Ok thanks.

I've conducted some trials and indeed a direct upload of a portrait image from my phone appears as landscape on the forum. So based on tips from Google and forum tests...

If having this issue when you first upload a portrait image it will appear correctly if you edit to crop or reduce size.

Looks like you had perfect weather for it. Will have to keep an eye out for you on calm days. Would like to pop over sometime myself too!
