It was one of the big starboard channel markers. If you Google "MAIB Seadogz", there is an interim report.

A sad day for all concerned.

Tragic event, very sorry for all concerned.

I hope though everyone lets the due legal process run without comment - there are both a grieving family, and individuals with their reputations at stage.

As well as the above, hopefully it might make other boaters think twice and maybe avert a similar situation - we've all had the most amazing days afloat - but the sea can be a unforgiving place

Don't see why we cant discuss it no doubt it will be debated in pubs & clubs throughout the country. I see the forum as being not too different to a sailing club bar room. We won't always agree but theres little point in debate if everyone agrees

The point I was trying to make is that now there is a court case in progress it would be more respectful to all parties involved and their families to wait until a verdict and not run an on-line partly informed commentary on this or any other forum in the meantime. People may have their views - I have mine - but is is not better to hold back until the legal process has run its course?

I've deleted a load of posts from this thread. Please leave it until after the court case has concluded before discussing it further here. Thanks.
