estimated value of sr4

Our sailing club may be selling an old avon SR4,its got grey tubes and an orange hull, its had the covered in bow cut back and a single console fitted (not a very nice one) the steering works but is well worn, the engine is a 2003 ish 25hp 4 stroke mariner with PTT.
The tubes have no patches as far as I can see and stay up all the time, the transom has been reinforced with stainless brace bars both sides, the transom is a bit soft so the wood inside is probably rotten.
The hull is quite tidy and not worn though to the mat or anything.
Its on a good trailer but that has no suspension and quadbike wheels and tyres.
In due course if we decide to sell it I will take some pics but for the time being anyone care to give me an opinion of its value??
Its perfectly usable but could do with new steering for next season.

The value is in the motor. Probably best to try selling this separately, if it's in tidy condition, then look to offload the SR4 on some poor projecteer.

How many hours on the outboard?

Don't know how many hours,no meter fitted and carbed so presumably can't plug it in to diagnostics, but used once a week in the summer since new for about an hour and a half.
I was thinking as you suggest to split it,£1500 for the engine and £500 for the boat???

RIBase
If the transom is soft, £500 is a bit steep for the boat. The trailer is useless except for using as a yard trailer so most potential buyers wll have to find another one.

I reckon the engine would have to be absolutely immaculate for £1500. It's a 7 year old engine that's been on a club boat. That'll put potential buyers off.

Agree with NoS.
This SR4:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
was for sale last year in a bit of a shabby state for £1300ish. A newer boat with a proper SR4 centre console, newer, better engine and a decent road trailer. It needed a bit of repair work to the bow tube and a bit of tidying to the hull gelcoat. I nearly bought it at the time, but my SR4.7 came along, so I bought that instead, as Ms DHD convinced me that you actually can have too many RIBs

Anyway, my point is that the Mariner F25 is probably worth around £1200ish, but the whole boat outfit with trailer & engine as it is wouldn't get that much. gibbo on here bought a half tidy SR4 on trailer for £500ish, so I reckon the boat and launch trailer will only get around £300, given its problems.
