An update. I tried the mod or whatever out yesterday, slipped the split keel roller over the ram piston and lowered the motor down until it pinched and the roller was firm. Went off all day thumping around as usual in all the potholes we are so used to. No problem at all. I would prefer the engine up slightly more but keel rollers only seem to be 5”, same as the ‘proper’ ones.
