Excessive Splash

I seem to suffer from heavy splash on my rib and wondered if there are any commercially available deflectors that anyone can suggest. Done all the usual stuff changing engine height altering trim etc.

got any pics of the outboard height bud?

what is the max outboard size/weight for the boat?

you could DIY something from thick rubber, never seen anything made for the job but maybe someone else will know.

they typically give more lift so in effect your engine may run a tad higher which may reduce it.

however, excessive splash is normally down to the engine mounting so worth looking at first.

cheers

if you want to DIY then look on direct plastics for 2-3 mm HDPE sheet inexpensive, easy to cut fix with screws and penney washers [ss] from seascrew ltd.

i've had a few bits off them they cut to size for you up to so many cuts then theres a charge, quick service & a full explanation of the different types of plastic and thier uses on the site.i use HDPE because you can weld it its great for making bespoke stuff to suit your needs.of course other plastics can be welded if you get the right weld rod easily sourced on ebay.

cheers

Nice little purpose made spray deflectors on ebay but looks like Australia's the only place you can get them.

IF it's a transducer I have sika-ed a large flap of Hypalon offcut (old elephant Trunk) above my sounder transducer. Was like the illegitimate son of The Belaggio & Treffi fountains before!

Originally tried a bit of ply on a wooden bracket..... it lasted 1 launch & a short reverse before I picked it out the water at the marina....
