Extending existing stuffing strap

Hi,

So I got my new tubes and they are beautiful and wonderful and I couldn't say enough nice things about Wing-Henshaw but the new tubes are slightly larger is certain dimensions. The one in this topic is the bow. My old stuffing strap is too small. I need to make it a few inches longer. Normally I'd like to discuss a new one but I am currently without income so we're stuck with what's on hand.

Any thoughts against cutting the inboard loop and making it longer? Overall the strap is 4 layers of hypalon thick and each side of the mounting loop is two. Seems doable to me. I don't plan of using it in "stuffing" situations, mostly it's there for pulling anchor. There is about 3"x2" on each side to glue to if I cut the loop in half

Thanks
Jason

Its a piece of webbing (or in this case it looks like hypalon) that runs from the bow over the tube to the inside of the boat, with the aim that if you stuff the bow really hard into a wave the forces involved don't rip the tubes off the hull. Normally only found on Military serious commercial boats.

On topic...sort of...
Is this a stuffing strap on my Gemini (sorry bad photo and there is currently a cover on the boat). I had assumed it was a modification but have just seen another 550 Waverider for sale which has one similar.
Thanks

Perfect!

Although I'd use black for maximum "high speed, low drag".
