I had a Suzuki DT200 on my 5.6. I could never get to top speed as it would scare me, the boat was very unbalanced. Have a brand new 90 Tohatsu on it now and it still does 40 knots but more importantly it has transformed into a beautifully balanced enjoyable boat. I will not be putting a 200kg engine on a 140kg boat again in a hurry regardless of what it is plated to. The ride is so much smoother that I actually end up going a lot faster comfortably than with the 200.
Not saying that the one you looked at wasn't good, just that there is a bit more to it than bolting on the biggest engine you can.

We have a 5.6 and a 8.9, We put 100 hours a summer on the 8.9 and 10 so far on the 5.6. The 8.9 is actually a little faster in top speed but we always cruise faster as the ride is so much smoother. I get the 8.9 in and out of the water on my own, only down side it takes so much longer to wash after a day out.
Not trying to discourage you, just my opinion.

I have also possibility to enjoy two ribs.
Grand S470+E-tec 60, 39kn
SACS S590+suzuki DF175, 47kn
Grand weights ~320kg, SACS ~750kg. Not much length difference but weight makes ride very smooth I must say

But the hydroplane does do it on water and is made of top quality plywood! Admittedly it isn't inflatable though so you do have a point!

My Bombard SB 500 with two stroke Yamaha 90hp would hit 40 knots on the GPS but I am not sure how much boat was actually in the water

When I had my yam 90 on a 5m humber assault it would do 42kn on gps, the same engine on my 5m destroyer only does 38 but is much nicer to be in.
The destroyer feels like it would be happy at 50/60 kn in flat water with a suitable engine however presumably transom weight would be the problem.
My old Concorde florida race hull with a 115 Suzuki would pull 50 plus but then started to try to chine walk into the next dimension.
If I can source a reasonable 140 yam next year I'll bolt it on the destroyer and report back !
