Faulty Yamaha Kill Cord Switch on Ebay - check yours works as it should

I installed a new Yamaha kill cord switch on my yams 15 outboard this weekend, only to find the new switch is faulty. To check I was not going nuts I put the old one back on (which I was only replacing as the cover was looking worn)- and it worked as it should.

When you remove the kill cord on the new switch it does nothing - just runs on! So it dangerous, hence this posting....

I have just contacted the seller on eBay to inform them, but I note they have sold quite a lot of these unit. It might be that I have the only faulty one, but if you have purchased one from eBay please checks yours works as it should.

I do not believe these are original Yamaha parts as the bags they come in do not have any Yamaha part numbers on them.
