Features wanted!

Over the years there have been quite a number of lengthy write ups of things like cruises, events, boat builds and what have you.

I think that some of these are probably worth singling out and moving into the features section so they don't just get lost in amongst all the more routine discussions.

When you are browsing through the forums, please let me know if you find anything that you think might be worthy and I'll see about adding it.

Thanks!
John

PS Any new features or write ups are always welcome too

That would be interesting

OK, that's done.

http://www.rib.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=39

It's at the bottom of the page because it's soooo old!

I have split out Pete's story from all the follow up and banter to make it an easier read. I've put links between the two threads through.

I think this works quite well, but I'm open to other suggestions.

John

Could Slimtims ‘I’ll show you mine if you show me yours’ thread be made in to a photo only gallery, it could be good reference point for identifying different makes and sizes of ribs Des

How about a beginners guide to ribs? Although much is covered in the forums you only find it when you get the problem. Could also link to trade directory and increase sales of paid up membership?

e.g. (very simplified)
1..Buy your rib (new / second hand dealers)
2..Electronics (list of dealers)
3..Get training (training people)

etc etc.

This would be useful to new comers and trades people.

JK

I'm writing (75% finished) some notes for a BSAC course (Outboard Engine and Boat Maintenance) it'll be in pdf and will be a very basic guide to the whole malarkey of getting started, I'd be very happy to have it posted here for download free.

I am currently having to re-photo most of the images in it so we dont get done for copyright. JW is going to proof read it and then any updates or insertions can be an ongoing task.

John,

any interest in a photo journal of how our new 7 mtr model develops - from plug to mould, mould to moulding, Tube fitting and general rigging on to CE testing and final sea trials?
We`re already up to mould and boat should be ready for sale Feb 06`.

Yes, and yes please!

I'll move Tim's posts across when I get a chance; Steve do you want to post it bit by bit, or wait until the full story is there?

John can you diplomatically "persuade" someone to write an article on DSC radio ?

Think it is long overdue given the recent debate on the forum.

I'd volunteer to do it but I know b.all about the subject

course that doesn't stop some pro journos

That should be easy enough -- I suspect that Jon Brooks may already have something suitable!
