Can anyone tell me how near low water the ferry/watertaxi stops operating at Helford passage?

It only stops on the bottom of spring lows. It runs off of a movable pontoon.

cheers - any recommends for good grub in St Mawes? - got a couple of little ones 2 and 5 in tow, so kids friendly!

If the sun is out, a liquid lunch on the Idle Rocks terrace is one of the finest pleasures that Cornwall has to offer IMO. ;-). Other than the LR, which isn't cheap, the others are a bit average. The Tresanton, Alex Polizzi's Mum's gaff, is top notch, but pricier still. The Ferryboat is tops for riverside nosh around here. Go for the shellfish and go easy on the clumsy young waiter with floppy hair. ;-)
