Few RIBs at Southampton Boat Show!
There are only a few RIB manufacturers going to the show which is a shame, so I won't be going....It's obviously not worth their while

These are all listed as RIBs and inflatables, then there is all the electronics, safety kit, clothing all in one place. I presume a few others will be on other exhibitor stands to keep costs down

Never heard of half of them, maybe they are SIB makes! I was hoping some more of the bigger players would be there....

Zagato,
More that half make ribs. However I would have thought part of the reason for going was to see the makes you don't already know. Afterall if you just see the brands you already know about you don't really need a show.
I think what you are trying to say is:
"I've got me heart set on an orange humber and so I'm not going"
So other than Humber which builder that you want to see is not going?

Yes just found out Humber will be their but are not listed! Would have been nice to see Delta, Tornado, XS, Halmatic, Osprey, BWM, Parker, North craft as they are the other main marques people have suggested but again maybe they are just not listed...or probably the search RIBs & inflatables isn't accurate - I'll try and get down eitherway...

Delta and halmatic don't sell to the public, so if they take your fancy you will be looking ex commercial/mod boats.
If you want to see them you'll be better going to seawork.
Osprey and northcraft probably won't be there as they are very small and sell on word of mouth not big shows.
I might be wrong but I don't think bwm exist anymore.

Just for information - Whilst we are listed as on M540, that is the Feature berth and we are only there on the last three days which is misleading if people come to see us! (We aren't there with a RIB either although we are a RIB manufacturer).

i'm planning at coming along to see your boat, i'm going to try to meet up with alan priddy and mark from renegade ribs so i don't know what state we'll all be in, you will be more than welcome to join our merry trio to celebrate the end of the boatshow (if you need an excuse for amber nector)

Heading for Salcombe on Sunday afternoon in the boat so getting hammered with you lot probably isn't the wisest! Come and say hi on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday or just wave from the pontoons the rest of the time!

BWM will not be ready for the Southampton boat show and London has had its day (it was empty this year) but will have a new range at The Dusseldorf Boat Show...

Spent the afternoon at the show. Usually go at weekend so was a pleasure to avoid the crowds. Contrary to some previous posts, I thought there were more ribs on display this year than last, and with fewer people it was no problem to get 'try rides'. Suspect we could have spent the day leaping from one rib to another for a quick blast around the bouyed test area, but limited ourselves to just one - on the new C-Fury. Impressive ride once up on the plane, though a lot of bow rise at slow speed and until it got over the hump (though that came at only about 8 or 9 knots). Suspect the fact that we were headed into the wind exacerbated the problem, but you get the impression that air running between the two outer hulls is definitely at least partly responsible for this issue.
Very strange the way it rides so flat in the turns, and think that would take some getting used to, but it's pretty spacious for what is only a 4m hull and will apparently pull 39 knots with the max (70hp) Yamaha fitted. We went out on the 50hp powered version and the ride at 25+ knots was very forgiving considering the amount of chop and the wash being generated by other boats ploughing around the circuit, but the price (circa £21k for the one we tested) seemed to us to be a pretty steep premium for the benefit of that softer ride. Mind you, even that's a snip against the price tag of the Sunseeker Predator 84 that Mrs NSS took a shine to - in fact the change from £4.5 million would barely leave enough for a decent tender to go in its 'garage'!

Oh, and a few other brands that were represented at the show included...
Stingher
Plancraft
Skua (looking very nice!)
AB Inflatables
Capelli
Walker Bay
Excell (wash my mouth out)
and at least a couple more whose names escape me.
One sad sight (as an Avon owner) was the line-up of Avons on the Zodiac stand - just three Seasport Jet derivatives - everything else carrying the Avon name is, apparently, history.
They did however have a 'NEW' version of the Zodiac Yachtline DL 420 which looked to me to be a cross between the old model and the now defunct Avon Seasport Deluxe range.

Yes also had a ride on the C Fury - very nicely finished/fitted out and as you say spacious for the size. Not particularly convinced about the softer ride and I found the flat cornering very odd - I think it would translate to unstable & wet in any sort of sea.

You may be right, but they've obviously put a lot of effort into developing the design and it is, as you say, a quality fit and finish. As it's British designed and built I hope it's a success, but can't help feeling the unusual ride and premium price will make it difficult for them to sell such a radical design in volume. Seemed like genuinely nice guys too so I hope I'm proved wrong.
