finally joined the rib-clan

Dear all,

A while a go I posted on here for advice about getting a rib, and this week, the dream becomes reality.

I did lots of leg work, and with a £30k budget realised I'd have to make loads of compromises. I narrowed it down to a quality, deep V, single-engined, min. 7.5m boat.

After bidding on Mark Wildey's Jellignite (but losing by a whisker), I was hooked on Scorpion, and so will be the proud owner of this, some time this week:

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice - feel pretty confident that Quick Exit will get us out most kinds of trouble.

Good choice, looks like a very clean Scorp.
Marks boat went for a steal I think on ebay. I did carefully consider the cost of getting her shipped to Canada!

Looks great - all right the boat may be a bit older but who cares - the engine is almost new!!! Good choice.

I wouldn't call a 97 boat particularly old......

Too right Codders, just think, you could have splashed out 20kish and had a boat right away and such a boat too. Rather than setting the record for the longest gestation period of any rib. Ever!

Richard's right 97 was a good year and 7 is his lucky number As a 8.5m I would say it would be an early hull number? Right?
