In the overwhelmingly majority of launch scenarios planning is the key..for launching and recovery.
And for me its preferable to wait for better conditions/states of tide... or even change locations to facilitate a launch without having to deal with such dubious and fraught conditions as they faced...something I'd always TRY to do.
BUT... when you gotta go..you gotta GO!

Thank you all for the advice, today we had a dive on the Breda followed by a passage up the the southern end of the sound of mull, just as a shakedown dive and cruise, all was well, fantastic scenery as you would expect. Will maybe be leaving the staffa trip to the end of the week as the weather looks best on Thursday and Friday.

Tomorrow thinking about the falls of Lora!

Staffa

Just completed our circumnavigation of Mull, absolutely fantastic day out. It was certainly a bit lumpy towards the end of the Ross of mull but as soon as we turned up the sound of Iona, things calmed down nicely. Made stops at Iona, where we went ashore but not Staffa as the swell was huge, Staffa was definitely worth the effort, it should be on everyone’s wish list. Stopped at Tobermory for a tea shop and a lunch tied up alongside then it was back down the sound of Mull to Dunstaffnage. Our 115 yam used about 1,1ltr a mile. Saw dolphins and plenty of different sea birds. Will try and post some pics later. Weather was pretty good and looks even better tomorrow.

Again thanks for the advice everyone.
