Come on Daniel you should know me better than that,less of the Range Rover it's more of a Mitsi L200,I'm glad the lead piping worked o.k, how much weight did you use?have you got any photo's from today's outing?I think Jono is coming over for a cruise soon so we will proberly meet up again then.I was going to come down to Bradwell today but they forecst 50 MPH gusts so I decided to give it a miss.They got it wrong again with the forecast.

I would have guessed at the 65 you're currently running, which is very respectable.
How are you measuring the speed, or more importantly, how was the 74 measured?

It's a splash of the Tohatsu one design whic I understand was a splash of a Phantom. I have driven a 7.5 with a 200 and it was quick. I also have chased it in my Scorp when it had the good engine and had a hard time catching it and the Scorp is good for 50 knots if you are willing.

Where the Tohatsus one design around the racing scene whilst you were still involved ( for that matter had ribs been invented?) if they were can you recall what kind of speeds they used to get.

what does a Phantom Evo clock with a Opti 225 and a three blade prop?

would a three blade to 4 blade prop make a difference in speed of that much and if so do you gain or lose some of the Hole shot!

I thought you would gain acceleration and lose top speed, but I'm only trying to remember what Daniel's book said!

Yeah, the EVO does just shy of 70 with a 225 opti, 69 to be precise, but one must remember that thats when it's set up perfectly (by Neil) and driven to the absolute limit, also by someone who knows the set up well and has the skill to extract the best from it.

This is why such casual statements about very high speeds is anoying (to me at least) as it misleads people and lessens the significance of such performance, and the work and knowledge that goes into achieving it.

Yes I was very dissapointed with the poor performance you put in whilst driving my boat in the poker run. Not many peope are fatter than me so I guess it wasn't a weight issue

Supplied by solent as an option the cloth peeps are the ones beside Ocean - cant remember at the mo.

As rogue says its the tohatsu/ phantom with a few minor changes such as the transom being thicker and increase to 14 degrees or so I'm told.
