First RIB circumnavigation of the world - old video

I circumnavigated the world between 1992 and 1994 in a 24' Zodiac fitted with custom cabin and running biodiesel in a MerCruiser Stern Drive. 130 sponsors from 14 countries to supported the "Sunrider Expedition" and this short video was produced with their support of the Biodiesel industry, our primary sponsor for fuel and logistics.....

quality is not the best but a friend posted it on YouTube if you have an interest in taking a look....was a great experience! if the below link doesn't work try searching YT for "Sunrider Expedition".

Good grief, you almost make it sound effortless! Though I am sure there was more to it than that.
For example, what mechanical problems did you have?
Do you have any ballpark figure for the total cost of your endeavour?

Oh, I remember it well....

You (it) were quite popular at the time. All done at displacement speed iirc. Did you not have a piece of tube pretending to be a gun to frighten off the baddies?!

Sweet video. Do you know how many gallons of fuel you used?

That was a trip and a half, and back in 1992!

Hat off to you.

thanks for the interest. here's a link to a quick summary that will answer most frequent questions about the voyage.....RIB Magazine (and others) did a feature on it years ago with lots of detail but not sure it can be found online....

Biodiesel Magazine - The Latest News and Data About Biodiesel Production.

I sold the boat to a RIBnet member a few years ago who lives in Vancouver BC - he was going to recondition the boat and modify for his own purpose but haven't heard from him for a while and not sure how that has gone..........
