First time rib buyer - HELP

Hi all,

I am viewing an XS Ribs, 2020, 5m rib with a 2020 mercury 60hp engine (72 hours) which is in pretty much pristine condition. With the trailer included, the asking price is £16,000. Is this a good deal? Due to the limited number of XS ribs available on the market, I am unsure due to the lack of comparable examples.

Cheers

Is it the blue/grey XS515 on Rib and Sib Boats for Sale;

If so, I know the boat and the original owner who treated it with kid gloves. Sold on late last year for considerably less than the current asking price. However at £16000 for a virtually new XS515, in that spec, is probably a fair price.

There was a very similar rib advertised on here a few months ago, same year, same engine for £14k

Xs ribs used to be Tornado of Hull....they have years of experience and are respected in the business.

The tubes are made of polyurethane which is a good thing as these day's....including the one you want to purchase, are hot welded and as such the seems are good for the life of the tubes.

The hull is tried and tested .... so if thing's turn sour the boat at least can handle it.

I purchased and rebuilt my 5m Tornado, including getting new tubes at xs RIB's/ Rib retube Ltd, and it cost me the best part of 10k in total, whilst the boat looks brand new it's still sat on an older trailer and has an old outboard on it.
I would say 16k for a 3 year old boat is about right if it's been looked after.

Have a look at xs ribs website for the price list...you will get an idea of what it would cost new.
Best of luck.
