i fish norway every year, only take a 12 20lb class rod abu reel, spinning rod (rovex lure pro) shimano spinning reel, and 6 miles of 30lb braid great sport on light gear, cod, haddock, coalfish, and halibut. had a 31lb coalfish and a 46lb halibut on a small 6oz pirk on the spinning rod.. buy the best you can, look after it, and it wont let you down..
