fishing the shambles

hopefully off out to the shambles as soon as the plaice turn up, anyone else been out there in their rib fishing??

Best for turbot and brill, the place beds are further west of the shambles

still plenty of plaice in that area, fished it a few times off the charter boats, any good down westbay?

Ye the place are on the mussel beds which run on the west side at the end of the shambles bank. I have a charter boat in portland marina if u ever fancey a trip. Ye there is some great fishing around to the west towards westbay, u don't get lots of turbot but there are some nice place to be had but only up to 4-5lb. Off of portland they get up to 8lb. Stronger tides = bigger fish

oh theres certainly stronger tides there! i would try and stay away from them though,ie the race! done bass fishing a few times in the race, but thats on a charter. what charter boat you got in portland?

There are Plaice grounds on the western side of the Bill. About 2/3rds the distance from the South most tip of the Bill to Chesil bank. Can't give exact location as I've only fished it on a Charter but had very good results on rag tipped with prawn.
