fitting engine

i am nearly ready to fit the engine, is it worth putting a stainless plate between the clamp and transom or even both sides of the transom? if so what thickness steel and does anyone have a wireing diagram for an optimax 150, cheers, mark.

Pm me your email Mark and i'll send over an electronic manual I used when I did mine (older model opti but all was the same).

I put a SS plate on mine inside and out and which was bent /welded to run over the top of the transom....(raised transom with it). Not describing this very well...will take /post some pics tomorrow if it helps...
