Fixing discolouring on rubber belt

I've recently started putting new life back into an old Bombard Explorer 500 (2010). Most of it has cleared up nicely except the surrounding rubber belt. I'm having real issues with the discolouring. Picture attached for reference.

Has anyone faced this issue before, any tips for removing it?

I've tried a couple of products, the best seemed to be pro-marine ribshine with a harsh scrubber pad. But even that required a lot of effort until the scrubber pad gave way after only working on ~10 cm of belt.

RIBase
Over time I have settled on starting with Cif & a Spontex brilliant scourer. For the stubborn left overs I use acetone and or black mould or streak remover and then finish with some 3M 303.

Try a bit of acetone on a small area and see if it helps. It was the only thing that shifted some staining on one of mine.

Mine looked in similar shape. Acetone and a course scuffy pad with a lot of rubbing cleaned it up. Much easier when the rub rail is off the boat though. Could sand it off, but it will leave a rougher surface which will hold more dirt.
