Hi Martin
Scorpion don't have the time to build a boat for me so it will not be a scorpion. I still have some others boats to look at before I decide. but it will be a deep V hull simulary to the Sco. so we can do some racing with it. Most of it we build our self.
Engine will be Evinrude Etec. (Always 2stroke)

I have been running my two 250 hp twostroke engines for 310 hours this summer, using almost 2 l. of oil pr. hour is 550l. At a price of 4 pund pr.l. is 2200 pund!!!!!. A four-stroke would only have used 15l. of oil.
Why is it that you are willing to pay so much extra?
Martin

First the 2stroke oil I buy are not that price but about Dkk 30,- = £ 2,85
secon my engine are not using that must oil. hours 403. about 230 litre.

The 4 stroke engine do not have the power I like. like a 2 stroke. they use les fuel ( about 35%) and are lighter (Etec/DI 229kg-Verado 305kg)

I have just been out with the new Etec 250 on my boat (good performens) Same speed 63kn. But more buttom effect..

Hi, Actionboat! I did not know that the fuelconsuption was that much lower on a two-stroke, good point. Interesting that the 225hp and the 250hp have the same top speed. But 63 knots, what propellersare you running? I tried 26" Raker, but the boat was wobling at 59 knots!? The boat/engines are the same as your.

Hi Martin. The engines(225-250) have the same gearing 1,85. and we used the same props Raker26. that why we had the same speed. But the engines are not aloud to do that many rpm. (6100) so have some new props coming.
When you look at boats, A fast boat is flat. and for ruf sea deepV like the scorpion. but if you go fast in a deepV 58 and up the boats start getting wobble. here it's the pilot to show what he can and understand the boat... I drive my boat with no wobling 63kn. I can also do a 360 turn in about 12meter with 43kn. I have seen pilots do a sharp turn and didn't understand the boat. next happen't is the keel tuching the water again and turn over the pilot left the boat..
also remember all boats have a speed limit. Hull-gearbox's

Best Jan

Hi, again, Actionboat!
It is stunning to reed what you can do, 63 knots with deep v and no wobbling, ( I assume that you do not put a lot of weight in front) and tight turn at 43 knots still with the same boat, could you please enlight the rest of us how you do it, tilting in the engines or what?
Martin

Hi Martin
Have a look at my homepage. http://www.actionboat.dk/videoklip.htm
There I show a 360' turn and some video of full speed.

Hi Louise. The boat was stolen. and found again. we had to rebuild it again because there was some damaged to the aluminium. we had to weld it..
Now we have 3 chips in the boat.

Sorry to hear that Jan but glad you got it back! It looks like you run some excellent trips. Do you have a bow ballast tank?

Hi Louise. no the boat do not have a bow tank. I trim the engine and can still do 50-55kn in 1 meter waves. But I will have that in the new boat. just 100L should be enough for ballast.

Best Jan
