Flares: Well, that was easy...

Today I disposed of some flares at HMC SRC at Lee-on-the-Solent and it was an entirely painless process.

I rang last week to find out which days the necessary officers were there and to list what I wished to dispose of; I rang this morning to double check and then drove down and dropped off the flares. Parking (on the hovercraft slipway) is free and just across the road.

A bit of peace of mind for minimal effort. I thought it might be a bit bureaucratic but not so...

(As a bonus I got to gawp at the SR.N4 the other side of the fence!)

I might have to pay them a visit then. How much do they charge for disposal?

Absolutely nothing.

(He did say the oldest flare handed in was from 1961!!)
