Flatacraft Force 3 GT - Renovation

Hi all,

New to the forum (so hopefully this is in the right place!).

Just purchased a Flatacraft Force 3 GT with a 25HP Mercury 2Stroke Outboard.

The Boat is early 90's with the engine being a 2003 I believe.

Previously we owned the Force 4 GT as our run-about, so we're quite excited to use the 3 GT as our weekend toy with ease of use.

I'm looking to renovate the boat, repaint tubes, floor pan, re-cover the PVC/Leather seats and just generally bring the boat up to a newer look.

Are there recommendations for paint for both tubes and floor, and if so, how much would I be looking to purchase? The boat is c. 3.5 meters, but will measure when it arrives this week.

Thanks in advance!

Did you, by any chance, buy this from a little town in the South Hams....??

Do the tubes need painting?
If the fabric is sound and they've not been painted it would be a shame to paint them.

I saw that advertised, and was tempted to go and have a look myself a few times.

In hindsight, no, they're in good condition! I used a special tube cleaner and they look fantastic now.

Just a few minor jobs left to do and then she'll be set.

Little update;

Cleaned the tubes, painted the floor (Scratched and a little too orange for my liking).

Engine runs really sweet, we hit 24 Knots flat out on some very smooth water, really quite surprised!

The trailer needs setting up better as not all the rollers touch the hull, but all bolts seems fairly stuck .. perhaps they need cutting and re-fitting?

In the process of making a small windscreen for her at the moment, not that it'll help with seaspray too much, but it should look a little 'sportier'

Andy

It is the same boat!

I know this is a very old thread I am resurrecting here but I have just bought a Flatacraft 3000 GT and in the process of doing some research I found this thread. It is the same boat. Unbelievable.

Anyway whoever you are you did a great job of the restoration as she is still going strong.

WOW!!! Thanks for the update, so pleased she's still going strong. Would love to see some photos etc.

Almost 10 years now since I bought her, and sold in 2016 to a lady who I think was in Devon, but can't quite remember those details.
