OK, here is the answer to your questions.
Pic 1
Drill a small hole through the horizontal plate on the A-frame. If you haven't got a horizontal plate, but do have a vertical plate, drill through that. Then adjust the lens so that it takes pictures from the correct angle. See the website for this rather clever bit of technology.
Pic 2
Put a small engineering bolt/screw through the hole from the underside. This is not supplied. Making sure the bolt/screw fits into the bottom of the camera, of course.
Pic 3
Fit on rubberised pad by making a hole in it. This is one of 2/3 diferent sized pads supplied.

Camera then screwed down (not too tight!!)-facing forward.

Ditto- facing sideways

gives a photo of the whole range of mounting options supplied with the camera. Helmet mounting, handlebar mounting etc. I suggest you look at the photo of all the supplied options first.

A thought. If you have an A-frame without any flat vertical or horizontal surfaces and you have an A-frame with 1" or less diameter, you could probably fit a combination of the handlebar mounts and get a steady picture. The "film" does seem to be amazingly steady when displayed on your computer screen. Dont worry if your A-frame is not truly vertical either as the mounting option lets you adjust for non-vertical mounting.

I do not recommend you use any of the velcro strapping as the vibration of your boat would soon unseat it.

Ive been looking myself if you want a good waterproof cam corder that can be handheld this cant be beaten on price or quality capable of 5mb stills as well as being full 1080p it is also fully waterproof immersion to 3m the ZX1 is not waterproof this can also be mounted to your a frame as it has a standard tripod screw with it to be used with a bar clamp http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/fixed-camera-mounts.php cost 30 quid
