I don't know if you're aware that the later Avons have a darker colour orange than earlier ones.

Colours with red pigmentation are prone to fading, so you're probably best getting the colour matched by taking a sample piece of GRP with you to a GRP supplier and they'll be able to colour the flowcoat to an accurate match. Hopefully you'll have a GRP laminating company near you.

And if it's for the older tangerine Searider pre 1995 ish you can buy the Pigment on ebay but you will need to mix it with clear gelcoat

thnx

Thnx for your help guys
And wow you did really a nice job with your sr4 i hope i get my sr5,4 in a stat like that
I need to break out the deck and replace the transom.
I think i saw out the deck first and than remove the inner polyester from the transom. Then pick out the plywood out and make a new wood section and laminate it and laminate it in.
After that i think gonna replace the deck with 9 or 18mm waterproof multiplex (plywood)

So if you have any tips or suggestions there welcome. seem you and expert!!!

I think i'm gonna use the RAL colour so in the future i can get it again (its lighter now since its from 1988)

thnx

Bert.
I did the job you described with the deck and transom last winter.

I've put details on here - http://www.rib.net/forum/f16/searide...ect-41799.html

If you have any questions about anything I did feel free to get in touch.

The boat has worked out great. It's so much quicker to get on the plane and uses much less fuel with the flooding hull blocked off although it floats much higher so gets blown around more at low speed but not enough to cause problems.

Project for this winter is a retube and reflowcoat the hull underside. I've done all the hard work though!
