Forth Coastguard - Fife Ness - Coastguard Meeting

MCA ANNOUNCE PUBLIC MEETINGS TO DISCUSS COASTGUARD MODERNISATION PROPOSALS

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency today have announced a series of public meetings concerning the proposed Coastguard modernisation programme.

This includes the closure of Forth Coastguard at Fifeness, Crail. Which is currently responsible for the coastline from Doonies Point (Stonehaven) to the Anglo-Scottish border, including the Firths of Forth & Tay.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the local communities around the existing Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres (MRCCs) to hear more about the proposals, ask questions of MCA representatives and have the opportunity to express their views.

Each meeting will be independently chaired and will begin at 7:30pm, expecting to draw to a close by 9pm.

Media cameras will not be allowed into the venues, however an MCA spokesman will be offered after the meeting for any media comment. A MCA media officer will on site at each venue. Please phone the main number below for their relevant contact details.
