Fowey Cornwell nice place to take your Rib

So here we are in Cornwell with our little SIB and our 17 foot Fletcher (ok not a rib) but we are having a lovely time and would be a lovely place to bring your rib for a holiday.

Mind you watch out for Cannis Rock

Here are a couple of pics of the trips we did today and yesterday

We are in a little holiday let called Little Merryfield with Cornish Horizons which is next to a public slip for small boats. This is where we have the Sib. The 17 foot Fletcher is in Penmarlam Marina on a pontoon. Access to our cottage is interesting as the roads are tiny

We have so far been very lucky with the weather

We use the slip by the ferry. There is a car park there too or a larger one (with a trailer park) a few minutes walk up the road.

Looe is great for a pasty or if you fancy a longer day Eddystone is still easily reached, a run up river works if too windy to go out and the tea room at Pulruan is just superb

We're looking closely at Fowey for 2018 summer hols. What's the shopping like (food and other weekly provisions) locally and where do you need to travel to for a big shop?

Liskeard or St Austell, both 20 minutes away depending on what side of the river you're on.

Liskeard is Morrisons, St Austell -Tesco/Asda.

There's a local shop just off the town pontoon, and a rather good butcher. The other side of the river there's a good cafe in Mixtow Pill and Penmarlam campsite has it's own shop at the top of the hill. It's 15 minutes to Looe and Black Dog Marine, decent chips and takeaways by car. Fuel is easiest in Looe just over the bridge at the Texaco garage, or on the way into St Austell.

Thanks Nos. Now just the search for a cottage near enough to the water for a transom wheel trundle and daily launching... at an affordable price!
