in all seriousness, i really wanna go for this show, but reluctant missus and £25+ for the booking is ...much to explain esp after xmas spending frenzy..

OK, seeing as it's Christmas - call any of the big exhibitors - tell them you are a potential buyer - many of they will happily meet you at the door with a complimentary ticket. You will have to play the game though and blag it a bit and obviously spend some time on the stand with them - as above nothing is 'free'.

you might just be onto something, of course i want to buy a yacht, else i wouldnt want to go... i never said anyhting about the timeline though so i welcome all the brainwashing.
