Flippin' cold on Saturday, the flares box in the locker had ice on it. Not the temperature to be practising hauling in mooring buoys and anchors - but the teaching room was a haven of warmth.
Sunday was an excellent day to be out, flat, sunny and only a few other boats. We even found time for a bit of shopping at lunchtime - much to the bemusement of Jon, our instructor. Coming back from the Hamble a yacht lost a fender overboard seconds before one of our MOB drills so we rescued our respective 'casualties' in tandem.
Jon was calm and clear in all his instructions so my fellow student (all the way from Hong Kong) and I had a very enjoyable, positive, couple of days. I've been to Stormforce for training before, and my high regard of them has been reinforced by this weekend.
And the Hagar cartoon is now stuck on the wall over my computer.
Thanks to Stormforce Coaching for a brilliant prize.
