Fuel Line

Looking for some advise!!

What is the correct size fuel line for a Tohatsu 50 HP outboard (2 Stroke)

I have a slight leak in the current line and looking to replace bulb and line.

That depends how far you open the throttle!

Joking aside, unless you have a particualrly long run between tank & engine 3/8" will do. I used to run a Suz 30 on a 1/2" bore / priomer etc. Swapped the connector form Suz to Yam & used it to feed a 55. Would run hapily up to about 4200 RPM then jsut die of fuel starvation.

Been running the Merc (60 HP) on 3/8 with no problems.

Just as a comparison, I'm pretty sure my F115 is on 3/8" as well.

Thanks for the replies, however I have been on the Tohatsu web site today, and managed to find that the fuel line is stated as 8mm or 5/16th.

Regards

My merc 60 2 stroke uses 3/8 fuel line on main tank, but i also have a extra tank that is fitted with 8 mm both work ok although have not had boat on max revs for long on extra tank, but certainly seems no problem.

5/16 is halfway between too small & too big!

I would treat that as a minimum - 3/8 will not cause problems, and as I said if you have a long run it's not a bad idea to go up a size anyway to reduce flow friction.

If your chandler only stocks 3/8 or 10mm or whatever, don't worry about it. Just make sure your hose & barbs are in the same size series......
