Daniel,

I think the Geko's were £85 with a free full visor.

By the way the Geko stand is right next to the Tohatsu stand, and the show boat is exactly the same as the one I was going to buy except it has an inboard diesel, the other has a 90hp TLDI engine. I will let you know tomorrow what happens re the boat, perhaps people can let them know (names will be supplied) what I think of them, if they have done the dirty on me.

Pete

Geko helmets

"£85 with a free full visor" - yeah, that's the deal.

I also went for their carry bag at just under a tenner to stop the kit getting scratched to bits. I reckon that it's well worth it as the bag's superbly made, with a lining that looks like it'll be very kind to the contents, and nicely padded as well. They helped me get the size sorted out (detatchable velcro-on pads) and showed me how to position the helmet properly on my head (as it's shaped up at the back, it's tempting to wear it raked back, but completely wrong!). We also talked about the issues in earlirer RIBnet posts, and I came away with the confidence that a lot of R&D has gone into the product.

Pepper,

How many did you buy? What is the intended use?

I want to get one for reasons discussed before (when very rough...) but think it's a bit silly not to get enough for the whole crew (at least two if not three).

I just bought one, I'll be using it if I'm out in bad weather, firstly for comfort (dry head and keep the rain out of by face) but also to stop injury from falling against anything hard/sharp (like a console, screen, etc...)
