Ooooh - Freebird was (is?) the name of a make of Surfboard. It was cheap, nasty, heavy, and a b*gger to paddle. It was, however, bullet-proof which is why it was a popular hire-board.
Not that I'm comparing it to a Gemini ......but the name might have conotations...
Now 'Voodoo Chile' - that's cool - can I use that if you don't?!?
Dylan...

hi ho all
im actually enjoying all the opions , as its a bit hard to know when salesmen are making up stories . its great to hear from people actually using the boat .
the 505 looks good but we wanted to be able to do some launches form small ramps and weight is a bit of a consideration . we will just have to toss up the advantages of lighter small as opposed to bigger , more roomy better & ride .
hey edward.. the gemini 505 on boat point is in storage and the owner has gone away till the end of the year but ill kep my eye out .
if your serious about selling yours you should send me some boat photos and particulars of motor age and asking price ect.
id love if anyone out there is using their rib for diving if they could post some pics of their deck so i can see some ways of setting up
reguards
matt

Matt when we use to go diving on the 5mtr Gemini we use to put the bottles inside the floor holds forward.
We could fit if I remember correctly 2+2 bottles in the holds and all the gear (BCs, fins wet suits etc) we use to store it in waterproof dive bags that were secured aft just behind the jockey seat.
Never used bottle racks since they take too much space and we also used the boat for going out and about too, towing skiis, donuts and going fishing. However if the boat is dedicated for diving a bottle rack aft is the best option.
Sorry, no photos boat has been sold 3 years ago (unfortunately)

Missus, it would be a pleasure as always !!
I will post more info on the regata thread that was started a week ago.
I know the organisers are looking for more safety boats for the racing if anyone else is interested.
Hmm....I feel another Littlehampton gathering coming on.
